Event Details

What does it mean to be self-sufficient? Is it all or nothing? Can we begin to incorporate more self-sufficiency into our lives? Join us for a thought-provoking Sunday Lunch Session where we delve into the concept of self-sufficiency.

Join artist Abi Wheeler to create a lifejacket out of recycled materials. We will use a basic pattern and select materials, construction methods and accessories to create these (non) life-saving objects. The workshop forms part of Stay Afloat; an ongoing project exploring the skill, ingenuity and futility of self-sufficiency in times of crisis.

Materials supplied. No experience needed.

Abi Wheeler is an artist, creative producer and former creative director of Ryde Arts. Abi did a residency at Aspex on lifejackets using the archive at the National Museum of the Royal Navy.
