Ventnor Exchange aims to foster and develop a unique creative community and economy on the Isle of Wight.
Throughout the year we present a diverse and exciting programme of new work, nurture emerging talent and host award winning festivals.
In 2014 we opened our home on Church Street, Ventnor in the town’s former Post Office.
Now housing a theatre, record store and craft beer bar it’s the best place on the Island to catch new work, as well as the perfect place to browse vinyl, meet friends and relax with like minded people.
We also host three annual festivals, the Isle of Wight Children’s Festival, held each April in Newport, Ventnor Fringe in July and Ventnor International Festival.
Christmas Garden (2016-ongoing) / Ventnor Giant Mural by Phlegm (2018) / The Travelling Museum (2017-18) / Portrait Of A Town (2016-18)
The Boy Who Didn’t Like Sweets (2016) / Wireless (2016) / Good Night, Little Bear (2015-16)
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2019 the Ventnor Fringe is a week long festival which sees the Island’s southernmost town totally transformed into a whole world of pop up venues and bars in every conceivable space, hosting over 100 different shows.
From outdoor cinema, the best new comedians and gigs in the harbour to the truly barmy events like improvised hip hop in a Laundrette or a 1930’s Parisian ‘Book Bus’ the Fringe has something for everyone! Best of all you can pick and choose which ticketed events to see or simply explore the many free events on offer.
Ventnor Fringe returns
23rd – 28th July 2019
VIF is the Isle of Wight’s unique take on the metropolitan/city based music festival. Featuring a carefully curated line up of the most exciting emerging artists from across the UK and beyond, it’s a place to discover the next big thing. A single ticket provides access to a whole range of interesting venues, from warehouses to churches, spanning rock, garage, electronic, hip hop and jazz.
VIF was piloted as a one day festival in 2017. We hope to bring the event back as a winter event in the future.
