Welcome to Ventnor Exchange. Our vision is to build an inclusive creative community rooted in and inspired by the unique culture, history, environment and people of the Isle of Wight. Come and be a part of it!
Combining an event venue, artisan bar, record shop and offices, Ventnor Exchange is a bold attempt to create a new type of space on the High Street. There is nothing on the Island quite like it.
We host everything from award winning theatre and comedy to language courses while also offering a relaxing and inspiring space to hang out with friends, relax or work.
All of the income generated from Ventnor Exchange is used to fund projects that develop the cultural offer of the area, and support opportunities for the next generation.
We regularly step outside of our building to help transform the community and environment around us. From major street art commissions to producing Ventnor Fringe, the Island’s largest arts festival, every summer. We also run Brave Island, an innovative new scheme to provide opportunities, funding and support to young people across the Island.

Ventnor Exchange is host to the Island’s most extensive craft beer bar, with over 60 ever changing beers to choose from at any one time, including many Belgian and German specialities. We have vegan, gluten free and alcohol free beers too.
We also have a huge range of gins, whiskeys and unusual spirits for fantastic cocktails. Not forgetting a wide range of soft drinks from all over Europe, real coffee and herbal teas.
Our bar space also combines as a record shop, with an ever evolving collection, including both second hand and the latest releases from all of our favourite labels. We are the Isle of Wight’s only official Record Store Day retailer and we also supply a range of turntables, record cases, magazines and other accessorises.

Ventnor Fringe is a week long festival which sees the Island’s southernmost town totally transformed into a whole world of pop up venues and bars in every conceivable space, hosting over 100 different shows.
From outdoor cinema, the best new comedians and gigs in the harbour to the truly barmy events like improvised hip hop in a Laundrette or a 1930’s Parisian ‘Book Bus’ the Fringe has something for everyone! Best of all you can pick and choose which ticketed events to see or simply explore the many free events on offer.
Ventnor Fringe returns
28th July – 2nd August 2020
Launched in 2018 the Isle of Wight Children’s Festival saw the Ventnor Exchange transform the Quay Arts Centre in Newport for three days with amazing shows, enchanting storytelling and madcap games.
Following two successful years, the festival will be taking a break in 2020
VIF is the Isle of Wight’s unique take on the metropolitan/city based music festival. Featuring a carefully curated line up of the most exciting emerging artists from across the UK and beyond, it’s a place to discover the next big thing. A single ticket provides access to a whole range of interesting venues, from warehouses to churches, spanning rock, garage, electronic, hip hop and jazz.
VIF was piloted as a one day festival in 2017. We hope to bring the event back as a winter event in the future.
