Ventnor Exchange’s Young Actors programme offers specialised training and insight into the world of theatre, led by a team of industry professionals.
Weekly sessions are held on Sundays during term time, with students developing a wide range of skills and techniques. There are many opportunities to perform in productions and festivals as well as the option to work towards professional qualifications and audition training for those looking to apply to drama schools.
Sessions are led by Jack Whitewood, Artistic Director of the Ventnor Exchange, who trained as a Director at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Tallulah Smith, a professional actor who trained at the Academy of Live & Recorded Arts, both in London. Guest facilitators from the industry are also welcomed throughout the year to provide a rounded up to date training.
Our Young Actors courses offers a unique opportunity to develop confidence, expand skills and make new friends. We will explore a wide range of methods and techniques including textual analysis, mime, clowning, improv comedy, puppetry, acting for screen and voice coaching. While there may be singing or movement/dance involved please be aware that this is not a musical theatre course.
