It’s every record fan’s favourite day of the year! Read on for the full details who will be playing, the records we’ll have in stock and what to expect this Saturday.

What’s your favourite way to listen to music? Blasting a speaker in a field with your friends? Something personal, like sitting in bed with your earphones in? Well, mine is to sit directly in front of my record player, paying attention to every scratch, the rediscovered means of authentic listening. So, for all those vinyl lovers out there like me, you’re invited to come celebrate the format with us on Saturday 23rd April!
This year marks the 15th Record Store Day. Launched in 2008 the idea was formulated to bring together and celebrate independent record stores that promote new music which were fast disappearing. Today, record stores are taking part across all continents, except Antarctica, the big, icy one! The day has helped a revival of the record format. In fact, in 2021 vinyl records outsold CD’s for the first since 1987!
On the day, we will be opening at the earlier time of 9:00am to give you a head start on finding what you’re looking for, or even just to browse through what we have in store. Kicking off at 10:30am, there will be live music and DJs.
A few important bits of information to note:
1.) Ventnor Exchange will be open from the earlier time of 9am. We’re open right through until 11pm
2.) RSD rules dictate no pre-orders or reservations. It’s first come, first served so it’s best to arrive early if there’s something your really after.
3.) Stock is very limited, especially this year, so we don’t allow anyone to purchase multiple copies of any record.
4.) All of our normal records will also be available
5.) Any RSD releases not sold will be available on our online shop from 8pm on Friday 29th April 2022.

All submissions will be accepted from Tuesday the 19th of April in our store and all album covers will be carefully cherished and returned once the exhibition is over.
If you would like to contribute simply pop into the Exchange from April 19th with your cover, or contact Tony at workinp@gmail.com to arrange a pick-up.
