Introducing our Creative Apprentice – Megan Stisted
Back in November we welcomed a new member onto the team and we thought it was about time we introduced Megan to all of you, in her own words.
My role at the Ventnor Exchange is ‘Creative Apprentice’, which means that up until the current crisis it was my job to help set up for theatre shows, organise the Free Fringe, and assist in the development of projects both current and upcoming. However, three weeks ago this all came to a halt, and I have since been working from home and have refocused my role to suit this.
Currently, I am working on putting together a series of interviews with island creatives; highlighting their work and talking a bit about how they’re finding life under the current circumstances. This is proving to be a great way to find out about how people are dealing with this time and what they’ve been up to. Whilst also discovering some new people, and their work, entirely! I’ve also been working on gathering some great online content to be shared and enjoyed.
My role as a Creative Apprentice is split between Ventnor Exchange and Quay Arts. At Quay Arts my role can vary day to day with general tasks such as helping set up the theatre or gallery, marketing and promotion, and working on different projects such as Lift the Lid. More recently, I have been coordinating applications for the 2020 Mike Howley Trust awards.
