YOUNG ARTISTS
Ventnor Exchange’s Young Artists programme is an exciting new course that provides visual arts education in an open and nurturing way.
Students will learn a variety of key creative skills, be encouraged to experiment whilst grabbing some understanding of art history along the way.
Weekly sessions are held on Sunday’s during term time and will be the perfect place for students to work on a project to project basis learning how to analyse and critique artworks, try out new ways of working as well as instilling some contextual awareness of art throughout time. This is a good companion to those studying Art GCSE or similar qualifications as well a great way to develop portfolios for those thinking of applying for Art College. There will also be opportunities for students to exhibit artworks and work collaboratively with the Young Actors and Young Writers courses.
Sessions are facilitated by Mhairi Macaulay, co-director of Ventnor Exchange, a graduate of Fine Art Drawing at Camberwell College of Arts (UAL). Special guest facilitators from the industry are also welcomed throughout the year.
